Larry N Stern, FSA, MAAA
President
Larry has over 55 years life insurance industry experience having worked for:
- Three different direct writers (last position Senior VP and Chief Actuary),
- A global consulting firm (Tillinghast; Principal and practice leader for product development),
- An offshore reinsurer (Scottish Re; EVP Financial Reinsurance Line of Business), and
- Since 2002, President of Canterbury Consulting, LLC.
Larry has dealt with all aspects of product/marketing strategies, reinsurance/risk management and capital issues throughout his career.
Larry graduated with highest honors from Indiana University with a degree in life insurance, actuarial science from the Kelley School of Business.
Larry has served the insurance industry in many compacities:
- A current Member of the Actuarial Standards Board Life Committee
- A Member of the Taskforce for Reinsurance Pricing ASOP
- A past Chair of the SOA Mortality & Longevity Strategic Program Research Committee, past chair of the SOA Nominating Committee, has served on several other section councils (Chairs of Product Development, Entrepreneurial Actuaries, and Reinsurance)
- Written many articles for industry publications and is a frequent speaker at industry meetings.

Vice President, Treasurer
Cindy brings over 15 years of prior Big 4 Firm / Industry experience in tax, audit, and finance to Canterbury Consulting, LLC. Her position, Vice-President, Treasure since 2003, requires managing the financial functions which include:
- Liaising with Auditors and ensuring compliance with fiscal and legal requirements
- Installing and implementing systems & procedures
- Filing all statutory returns
- Implementing group policies and procedures
Cindy is a member of the AICPA and NCCPA. She is licensed in North Carolina and Indiana. Cindy holds a B. S. degree from North Carolina State University and Indiana State University.
